We will talk about widespread errors simply. And then every soap to turn out to such, what began to think, and a result will bring gladness and will support inspiration! We will consider most often meeting problems for a beginning soap maker, reasons of origin and methods of their decision.

Problem №1. The prepared soap fell to pieces, crumbles, and layers are not coupled with each other.

Reason and decision 1. You have added a lot of dry scrubbing particles to the soap base. This may be ground coffee, dried flowers, cinnamon, etc. Add dry scrubbing particles to a maximum of two teaspoons per 100 grams of soap.

Reason and decision 2. Your product contains several layers, inserts, there are fused parts weakly bonded to each other. Without allowing the previous layer to cool completely, before pouring the next layer, sprinkle all layers, all inserts and molded parts, as well as the mold with alcohol. Use a stick to apply a few light scratches on the first layer before pouring the next one.

Problem number 2. The finished soap is badly washed.

Reason and decision 1. The soap is dry. Keep the soap well-packaged for a short time (no more than 5 months).

Reason and decision 2. You have added a large amount of base oils. Remember that 100 grams of soap base will be well taken 1/3 tsp. base oil.

Problem number 3. Soapy base dimmed, air bubbles formed.

Cause and Solution 1. You have overheated soap base. Melt the base only in a water bath. And when using a microwave oven, set the power to 600 watts. If bubbles still appear, sprinkle the melted base with alcohol.

Cause and Solution 2. You have been mixing the soap base too vigorously. Stir hot base gently, without haste.

Problem number 4. Injected parts melted.

Reason and solution. You poured the base in too hot condition. Let the base cool slightly before pouring. Stir for about 2-3 minutes to prevent a film on the surface.

Problem number 5. Layers of soap were mutually colored.

Reason and solution. You used a perfume with vanilla. Take in work the stabilizer of vanilla, a basis with the content of 2% of vanilla.

Problem number 7. Soap dries the skin.

Cause and Solution 1. You have added many different fragrances to the soap. But they should be no more than 4-9% of the total soap.

Cause and Solution 2. You have not added or added a little base oil to the base. Add a quarter or one third of the tsp. base oil for every 100 grams of soap base.

Cause and Solution 3. You used potassium permanganate as a dye. Do not paint the soap with potassium permanganate. Her presence in the soap will dry the skin or cause a burn.

Problem number 8. Soap is not frozen.

Reason and solution. You have added water to the base. Water will not allow the base to harden, it violates the chemical composition of the base.

Problem number 9. The finished soap does not smell of fragrance or essential oil.

Cause and Solution 1. You have added little perfume or essential oil to the base. In the total amount of soap, perfume or essential oil should be 4-10%.

Cause and Solution 2. You have added a perfume or essential oil to a still hot base, and they have evaporated. Remember to follow the sequence: add base oil to the melted liquid base. Then dye. When the base has cooled slightly, add a perfume or essential oil.

Problem number 10. The dye did not stain the base.

Reason and solution. You used undiluted mineral pigment. Dilute mineral pigments. It can be water or glycerin. The proportion is 1: 3 or 1: 4. And then shake well.

Problem number 11. Soap is not removed from the form.

Cause and Solution 1. You used a plastic mold with scratches, cracks on the inside. Will help the refrigerator. Put the dish in the fridge for a minute. You can also insert a thin knife between the wall of the mold and the soap. Press down on the bottom of the form. (Very carefully!) An air bubble forms in this place, and the soap will be easier to remove.

Cause and Solution 2. The soap is not completely frozen. Wait until the soap feels cool.

Problem number 12. There was a white bloom on the surface of the finished soap.

Cause and Solution 1. You could use chocolate or cocoa as an additive. It is better to use a dye.

Cause and Solution 2. You have taken ant spirit into the job against bubbles. Use ethyl alcohol.

Problem number 13. There was a mold in the finished product.

Reason and solution. You have taken fresh citrus zest, fresh fruits and vegetables, liquid coffee, cream, milk as additives. Do not work with these products.

Problem number 14. Soap colored skin and water.

Reason and solution. Looks like they added a lot of dye to the base. In the total amount of soap dyes can be 0.5-4%.

Problem number 15. Fat marks formed on the surface of the soap.

Reason and solution. Added a lot of base oils. Remember the proportions! Add one-third tsp. base oil per 100 g of soap base.

Problem number 16. Dried flowers, scrabbing particles were distributed unevenly in the soap.

Reason and solution. This happens when you add scrubbing particles to a hot base. Allow the base to cool, stirring it against the appearance of the film. After this, add dried flowers.

Perhaps it is these problems that are often found in soap making from the base. Do your business with love and attention. We wish you good luck!
